North Dakota Tourism Cooperation Opportunities Benefit Communities

The North Dakota Department of Commerce’s Tourism and Marketing Division recently introduced new cooperative opportunities and resources for communities and businesses to attract more revenue from visitors.

The 2022 Cooperative Marketing Plan identifies priority markets and audiences to ensure targeted resource allocation. Co-op programs help businesses and organizations of all budgets expand their presence and maximize investments in marketing, social media, and public and media relations. The plan also highlights trends, new tactics and niche opportunities and can be viewed at https://belegendary.link/Advertising.

“The cooperative marketing plan along with newly enhanced resources helps partners increase their marketing dollars and tell unique stories to showcase their communities as welcoming destinations for visitors and new residents,” said Sara Otte Coleman, director of tourism and marketing.

The following new and improved resources are now available:

  • With 78,720 total assets systemwide, the North Dakota State Media Library’s visuals, travel itineraries, and quality of life videos continue to help partners, state agencies and others to feature and promote North Dakota. Find legendary photo and video assets at https://belegendary.link/StateMediaLibrary.
  • Five new videos created in partnership with Brand USA, the marketing arm of travel in the United States, showcase legendary experiences across the state. The uniqueness of each experience is demonstrated throughout the videos and speaks to specific niches that currently resonate with travelers.   • The NDtourism.com partner portal has been updated with new features and better integration for industry partners. Attractions and recreation providers, event planners and accommodation providers can use this resource to have their experiences listed on NDtourism.com for free. NDtourism.com hosted over 2.1 million visits and provided 281,712 referrals to partner sites in 2021.
