Virtual Problem Gambling Prevention and QPR Gatekeeper Trainings | Community
The Tillamook Family Counseling Center is pleased to announce that in March it will be offering community members two virtual prevention education events.
Both events include a Question, Persuasion and Refer Gatekeeper training and an Introduction to Problem Gambling Prevention presentation.
Question Persuade Refer Gatekeeper Training:
QPR Gatekeeper training will be presented virtually via the Zoom platform on March 11and, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This training is a community-based mental health intervention that has been listed on SAMSHA’s National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices as Effective Suicide Prevention Training. This training has been designed to benefit all adults, including: parents, teachers, employers, healthcare staff and care staff. This training will be offered free of charge to the participant (registration for this training will be limited to 20 participants who reside or work in Tillamook County).
Presentation on problem gambling prevention:
The Introduction to Problem Gambling Prevention presentation will be presented by the Tillamook Family Counseling Center in partnership with Northwest Parenting. This presentation will be presented virtually using the Zoom platform on March 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Participants who attend this training will learn about: problem gambling, the continuum of gambling behaviors, the impacts of problem gambling, problem gambling prevention strategies and useful resources. This training has been designed to be beneficial for parents, guardians or other caring adults. This training is offered free of charge to 20 participants who live or work in Tillamook, Clatsop or Columbia counties.
